How is everyone this week? I'm emailing a little earlier than usual. We are in Kingston at the office emailing today because Elder Montgomery needed to come here to buy a hard cover guitar case.
This week not a whole lot happened. I did get to eat beef though and that was awesome. Sister Irving fed us peppered steak. It was nothing like what we have but at the same time it was amazing because I hadn't had real beef in forever. Occasionally we eat at burger king on Wednesday's and i get a cheeseburger and that is the closest thing to real beef i get haha. Otherwise it is mostly chicken. Last night though Sister Gardner brought us pork.
One day this week we had a couple blow outs and then we went to try and find some people to teach. We were walking by a members house and she was doing yard work. We offered our help and I am telling you that I gained an appreciation for lawn mowers. Here to cut their lawns they use machetes. She asked us to trim her bushes and to do part of her lawn. She had been working all day on it and she looked pretty beat. Well I ended up with 4 blisters on my hands. I came to conclude my hands are slowly softening and that 4 months ago when we were working on the corrals my hands had a hard covering on them :)
Yesterday was a really good meeting. A speaker from the district came to talk to us. He had a really motivating talk to the members about being member missionaries. We have been really trying to get the members involved and hopefully this Sunday helped encourage them. It is crazy how much help the members can be and how much more work it is with out them.
Last night we were walking and the power went out. It was crazy how quiet it seemed without music playing constantly from some random direction. Well when the power came back on i started counting to see how long it took before i heard music playing again. It took 1 minute and 3 seconds.
We have two investigators with a date and i feel really good about them. One is Christina she is really cool. She is a cheerleader and is going to college in Kingston. She is on break right now. We have been working with her for a while but she hasn't had a date because she says that dates scare her. Well we finally got her one and she was ok with it. It was so cool.
We have another investigator right now named Lester Moody. He is a really awesome old man. We had two lessons with him and he told us how much he wanted to change and accepted a baptism date. He says since he has been meeting with us all of his desires to bad have been replaced with desires to do good. We were kinda bummed yesterday because he wasn't able to make it to church.
Well I love ya all and can't wait to hear from ya next week.
PS. The pics are of me chopping the yard and a beautiful sunset!
