Wagwon (what is going on) family and friends,
I hope everything back in the states is just going great!! This week here in Jamaica has been crazy. I have officially decided that everything here is starting to just be normal but I am starting to forget what it was like back home haha. I was reading in my journal about the first couple of days on jam-rock and i was in complete culture shock and i was wondering what was so crazy about it all :)
Well yes transfers are coming up right around the corner. Elder Montgomery leaves me on the Aug. 8 and flies out on the 9th. I will be getting a new companion and more than likely be staying in Old Harbour. He is pretty excited to come home but at the same time he said he doesn't want to leave. I told him if he is ever in rich county he need stop by and you guys would let him rope a few steers if you were roping haha.
On wednesday we had a zone meeting in spanish town and it was really good. After that Elder Montgomery had an ingrown toenail appointment in Kingston. They told him there is nothing they can do about it at this stage but the whole thing has me paranoid about my toes. I really really hope that my toes don't end up being a burden.
While in kingston it was crazy to actually see modern life haha. This week was District Conference and it was really inspiring. District Conference is just like stake conference but since jamaica doesn't have a stake they are split up into districts. There was standing room only, i stood in the back the whole time. It was really hard to concentrate but i got most of what the speakers were saying.
We haven't had any run-ins with pinkeeeberry lately so that is good but whenever we see her or hear her OOOOYYYYYEEEE call we try to remain calm and "don't panic" as dad would put it. We usually do a pretty good job at diverting the situation but sometimes we aren't so lucky. Thanks for the July 4 candy!!! I feel like dad picked through it a little before it was packaged though ;) haha All i know is i am gonna have to up the ante on exercising if i want to continue to fit into my suit. I got on the scale this week at the doctors office and it read 161!!! my jaw hit the floor when i read it. Then i got on again and it read............................................................................................... 173. I think i was a little off both times. I might be losing muscle and gaining the other which is too much to mention haha. Sister Irving is going to let us use her scale on tuesday i think so that will be good.
Well that is all for this week. I love you all and i appreciate your support and prayers. Remember to read the Book of Mormon and to listen to the words of the Modern day Prophets. It is really amazing how inspired they are. I can't wait to hear from you next week!!
Love Elder Stuart
