Sorry this is a couple days late...
Hello Everybody,
This week seemed like the longest week ever!!! But then again it feels like just yesterday I was writing to you all. Well the week started off with my other chair breaking!!! it wasn't as funny this time and it was not a good way to start a week haha.
Also something we did this week is we started running in the mornings every other day and i thought it would help me maintain my figure haha nope. it just made me double my food intake and i feel like i've gained 10 pounds. The other day we had a lesson with a less active member and we asked where the closest good cook shop was for lunch. Well we went to her suggested spot and it was pretty good. I left content. Then we went to President Thomas's (the second councilor in the branch presidency) and he had lunch all ready for us!!! i was stuffed. i am officially getting fat off of rice and pea's and chicken. That is the main food here that everybody eats. And yesterday we had three big meals all after 2:00 in the afternoon. The first one was rice and peas and chicken, the next one was rice and peas and chicken, and the last one was rice and peas and pork. So there was a little variety in what i ate yesterday haha.
Another big thing that happened this week was Elder Montgomery's 23 month aniversary. He goes home in 1 month exactly!!! I don't know if i am ready for him to leave me yet. Well for his 23 month mark we went and got Ice Cream of course!!! I Love Ice cream but one thing i really miss is raspberry shakes haha.
Another thing which i didn't know i hated so much until i came on my mission is ANTS!!! They are terrible here. I woke up the other morning with ants crawling all over me and then all morning they were everywhere!!! it was a battle between me and the ants all morning, it is a good thing i relied on the lord or else i don't know if i would have been able to over come the battle in which took place.
That same day every single one of our appointments fell through but 2. It was the longest day of my life. We also ended up walking like 4 miles further than we had to. At the end of our journey i prayed to myself that our journey wouldn't have ended in vain and then we met 4 people right then who we set up next appointments with. Crazy, always be patient with the Lord he knows what he is doing.
This week i was asked to give a talk in Sacrament meeting. I was scattered all over the place preparing for this thing. On top of the stress of giving the talk i was stressed for the investigators who needed to be at church this week to be considered progressing. Well we ended having three investigators at church and only one of them were considered progressing. So it was good she was able to come.
One of them was hard hearted Paula, i don't know if i have talked about her before but she has been investigating the church for a good while now and every time we have went to see her she tries to contradict everything she has learned. Don't get me wrong she is awesome just wont open her heart for the gospel. Well we had a really good lesson with her last night and by the end of it one of her questions was what all do i have to do before i be baptized!!! we couldn't believe it, i was in shock. I was a good way to end such a crazy unproductive week.
Well on the agenda for this week we have zone conference in Kingston all day tomorrow but when we get back we have a book of mormon study activity and Paula at 7:00. At the zone conference i have to bear my testimony. All the new missionaries and all the soon go home missionaries get to bear there testimony's. I'm kinda nervous about that. Well i love all of you and hope you have a good week.
Love Elder Stuart
PS I finally got grandpa's letter he sent to me in the MTC and i was really happy about that. I also got a letter and some pictures from Ronda, and the card in the mail From Mom!! The other picture is my first planner i finished while here in Jamaica.
