Dear Family - Oct 28th

Good Afternoon,

Well this week has been another one of those best weeks.  It is interesting when you get a new responsibility a whole new world of feelings come with it. I know that even though I cant do this on my own I have the Lord and his Spirit with me so all things are possible.

As for the missionary work it has been going great. We have been putting a huge emphasis on members and their roles in missionary work. A lot of people and missionaries think it is the members responsibility to help the missionaries but they have it backwards. It is the missionaries responsibility to help the members do their missionary work. They said it best at conference when they said that this work will not move on with out the members.

My first sunday as branch President was really interesting. The member who was supposed to talk had an emergency come up and missed sacrament meeting so I ended up point blank giving a talk. It wasn't as difficult as I expected. It guess it comes with the calling haha.

I have been thinking a lot about faith lately. I think of the faith that we read about in the scriptures and what it produced. I ask the question sometimes, "How was Nephi so faithful?". The part answer I came up with was that he was true to the knowledge he was given, not only when life was easy but especially when life was hard. The question I ask myself sometimes is "Do I still have faith to be obedient to the Lord even when nothing is going the way it should?" That is when your true faith shows its colors.

I have learned a lot this week and I continue to be humbled daily. I have come to decide that every day should be a learning experience. I hope I can continue to be faithful to the knowledge I have. Thanks family for all your love and support.

Love Elder Stuart
