This week has been awesome. We have met a lot of new people who show some promise but also we are sifting through them. I hope all of you were able to watch the world wide missionary conference and if not you can watch it on the computer I think.
Well we had a pretty cool experience happen this week. Really a testimony of how real the devil is. I know just as Elder Holland has said that we don't like talking about him more than we have to but it makes for a great story. So this week we were teaching a new investigator named Metisha. She is a Caymanian who is married to a Jamaican who has a family. The husband is taking the discussions too. But we were teaching Metisha and reading the first chapter of the Book of Mormon with her when some former investigators pull up who belong to the Seventh Day Adventist Church. They were only talking with us in the first place to try to prove us wrong. Well they roll out of their suburban on a Saturday evening up to our discussion. Just trying to be civil and nice I ask them how church was and they start ranting on about how amazing it was and 6 people were baptized. So then we ask them how the Book of Mormon was going and the guy was like, "I read all of Nephi and it just doesn't line up with the bible or what i believe." then he starts talking about a bunch of our doctrines that most of the world doesn't understand and trying to prove to our investigator how outrageous our beliefs were. Well good thing we had been reading the Book of Mormon right before this happened and our investigator confounded them in their words. They shared a scripture about not being deceived by our lies and she said, "so you are saying Jesus Christ is a lie?" hahaha Done, they did not know what to say to that. Then we just testified and they left haha. I am not gonna lie I just love the spirit haha.
Well the big missionary conference was super awesome. just so you all know there is a lot of rescuing that needs to be done. Our beloved prophet can teach us a thing or two about that. The Savior said, "What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he loses one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it?" Luke 15:4 (see also Ezek. 34:16) Go and find them, and if any that are lost read this, come home.
The church is true and it is for everybody who wishes to improve themselves to perfection, "line upon line, precept upon precept" (1 Ne. 28:30) no matter who you are you can access the power of the atonement of Jesus Christ. I love each of you so much and I thank each of you for the wonderful examples you have been for me. You are all the best.
