I'd like to share a quick snippet of Parker's email to me. It had me laughing so hard and him as well. :) Enjoy!
"This week it was raining a ton and I didn't really watch where I was driving. So I was just driving through a bunch of puddles and randomly Elder Ambrose yelled. "Nasty bird wata" in his trini accent. I guess it was like the 5th time I drove through the puddle but he was quite disgusted and so he finally lost it. haha it was really funny. I laughed for like five minutes."
Good Afternoon,
So it sounds like everybody is having a good week. Congrats dad on the team roping. I bet you are all loving the summer break. Tyler, Kylee, and Traiden are loving their vacation to San Antonio it looks like. Sam you are having way too much fun at home. Lou, I definitely agree that one-a-day sprinklers are a blessing. And Lucy is absolutely adorable as usual. Mom keep having success among your volleyball girls.
This week has been super crazy. I am learning so much every week and I really hope I can always say that. We have been working really hard and on Sunday it paid off. Our teaching pool has unfortunately been really low. We are really trying to find those who are going to walk across America if asked to do so. I don't have anytime for scrubs haha.
So this week after a very purposeful fast we had 4 people who we had never met that lived in Cayman show up to church. So now we have 4 people who willingly came to church who we can now start to have discussions with. I definitely believe those are blessings straight from heaven. ;)
So this saturday we went to a Seventh Day Adventist church. We have a new investigator who is a die hard Seventh Day and he said he would come to our church if we would come to his. It was a good service but it really strengthened my testimony of the restored gospel and the Book of Mormon by visiting them. Interesting how that works huh? Well it was really funny The pastor of the church welcomed us infront of the entire congregation. The next day our friend missed the sacrament meeting which is a bummer because it was a really spiritual meeting but he made it to gospel principles. He was asking the gospel principles teacher to show him everything in the bible but as you all know that we have additional scripture and a living prophet hence the fullness of the gospel. I was really impressed with how well the members handled the situation. They told him they really loved his questions but it came back to the Book of Mormon and stuff. It was really cool to see that.
Well I love you all and am really enjoying the mission. Sorry the emailing is so short today but we had a lot of unplanned urgent errands come up and we don't really have that much time today. I love you all and keep up the good work. (Parker is having trouble with immigration. They won't renew his work permit, so every three weeks he has to go to immigration and pay $100. Keep him in your thoughts and prayers. Hopefully, this can get taken care of soon.)
Love Parker
