Hello Family!!
So this week has been so fast i just cannot believe it. First thing is first. General Conference was absolutely amazing. If anybody missed any part of it you have to go watch it again!! Also if any people want to know more about the church go to www.lds.org and watch a modern day prophet and apostles, who hold the same authority that the apostles held when Jesus Christ was in his mortal ministry, give us counsel, certainty, and consistency in a day when there is so much confusion, uncertainty, and inconsistency. Well with that said how did you all enjoy conference?
So not much has happened here other than conference. Just a lot of missionary work. We have really been applying a lot of what our leaders have been counseling us to do. For example President Hendricks has really been stressing how in-effective tracting is and I haven't tracted since December!!! Also some of his counsel has been to really make sure we are being obedient so that when we teach and discuss and testify about obedience we aren't like hypocrites like the man who beheld the beam in his brothers eye and didn't take the mote out of his own eye first. Really just making sure we are living the gospel standards that Heavenly Father has set for us. All i know is i come home exhausted every night!! I love it like that though. It means we have been working hard.
One thing I have really realized is how true the restored gospel is and I can feel how true every time I testify or read the Book of Mormon or even help someone in need. It is really amazing to be able to hear modern day apostles and prophets with understanding that they are truly men who have been called by God and is the worlds connection with Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.
So our Cubans are doing awesome. Juan just absolutely loved conference. He stayed at the church and watched it from 11 to 9 on Saturday and Sunday 11 to 5. Has already read through the Book of Mormon twice since he has been baptized and it is truly just because he has read the Book of Mormon so much with his companion, the holy ghost, how much he already understands. It is quite remarkable.
Also our other recent convert Pam Workman is doing remarkable as well. She is on her third time in the Book of Mormon. She is the lady who is recovering from intense chemo-therapy and can't walk. She has made the goal to be able to walk by December so she can walk up to the pulpit and give a talk. She said the only way she will give a talk is if she can walk again. Also she has made the goal to walk again so she can go to the temple and be sealed for eternity with her dear husband. She can't leave the island right now because she is too weak but she is very determined. I absolutely love faithful people. It just puts a smile on my face to hear stories and to actuallly see them in my life. I love my faithful family you are all so wonderful to me. I love your prayers and your support. Keep smiling and enduring.
Love Elder Stuart
