Hello Everybody!!!
How is everything going on the home front? Everything here in MayPen is awesome. It is really cool opening a new area and training at the same time. We have had some really cool experiences. Also in the area we have lives the District President (equivalent to Stake President) and also the Branch President (smaller version of bishop) and the relief society president. We had dinner with the Relief Society President (sister McLeod) yesterday and a really good meeting with President Piper (district president) and President Jones (branch president). They all seem really excited to do missionary work and we plan on working really close to them through this.
May Pen is really nice, they actually have a church to meet in and not a rented space haha. It is a lot bigger than Old Harbour and there are a lot of rich people who live here as well. Our area has all the mansions in it so I don't know how well that is going to work but hopefully we will find a lot of success. I have a really good feeling about it. The area is also really hilly so i have been getting a work out a lot everyday so that is good. Hopefully I can loose a little weight hah. Today we plan on going to the church and playing basketball and i am totally stoked for that. I haven't played since I left the MTC.
So before I got here a big super market called Shoppers Fair ( the closest thing you can find to Walmart here) got struck by lightening and the roof collapsed. You might be thinking to yourself why is he telling me this? But very soon you will find out. So Shoppers Fair is right next to the church in May Pen. So on Sunday the people who were doing construction said that we weren't allowed to have church. So guess where we went to church my first week in May pen....... Any Guesses!!! OLD HARBOUR!!! It was really fun because last Sunday i didn't get to say bye to very many people because i was sick and what do ya know i get sent back this week!!!
Oh yes also the MayPen house doesn't have a washing machine so guess who gets to bucket wash all of his clothes!! I do and i am not very good at it so it takes me way too long. I woke up at 6 this morning and washed until 7:45 and all i got done was my whites!! Also the MayPen house doesn't have even luke warm water. Old Harbour house had semi warm water all the time and that was it but MayPen, it's like jumping in birch creek every time i need a shower. And that is a lot but i can handle because i know what cold water feels like. Everybody else can't stand it haha. Well that is pretty much what is happening this week. I love you all and can't wait to hear from you again soon.
Love Elder Stuart
