Dear Family,
So everything this week has been crazy. There is never a dull moment in the Jamaica Kingston Mission. This week we had Zone Conference on Wednesday. It was super cool. We had a general authority speak to us, Elder Zivic of the seventy. He is like the second counselor in the Area Presidency. Well he definitely motivated us to be better missionaries and this week our numbers were up so that was good. He talked a lot how we as missionaries are here to find teach and baptize people who are ready to be baptized. He also gave us three words to describe a successful missionary. Obedient, Worthy, and Healthy. Who would of thought haha.
Something else that has been kinda crazy is all the shootings that have been happening in Old Harbour. Like every other day we hear of another shooting.
Today we had a really fun PDay. We went to Ocho Rios. It is the North Coast and a really touristy area. I saw more white people who weren't missionaries it was really funny how much it amazed me to see actual white people haha. We played soccer on the beach and I got covered in sand. We stayed the night in Spanish Town Zone Leaders house last night because if we would of stayed the night in Old Harbour we would of had to wake up at 4:00 this morning. I was fine with it because the Zone Leaders have Air Conditioning and Hot water, it was nice.
So Sad story, our main investigator Ann Marie didn't show up to church on Sunday. It was a blow and when we went to see her after to see what happened to her we saw her at her old church. We asked her why she wasn't at our church and she said that her church sister missionary came and got her to come to the other church. It was definitely not what we had planned for. But we ended up having two investigators at church so that was good. That is the most we have had at church in weeks.
Another story, So one day this week I was feeling a little like i wasn't going to deal with anybody's crap and this lady was questioning us and giving us trouble in the middle of the lesson. Asking questions like about if we were virgins and whatnot. She asked me to marry her and i said very bluntly NO!! I finally told her to be quiet and we will answer her stupid questions after the lesson. It pretty well silenced her for the rest of the lesson so that was good.
Well I am loving the mission still and i know that this is where I'm supposed to be. I can feel everybody's prayers and I appreciate them a ton. I know that without them and without Heavenly Father this work would be pretty hard and somewhat impossible. I love you all and keep up being the great people you are. Don't forget to always be doing what is pleasing in the eyes of heavenly father. Don't forget about me and I am looking forward to next week.
Love Elder Stuart
