Dear Family,
I bet you are wondering why i say this is the best week ever? Well i am about to tell you why. On Saturday Yallahs Branch had a baptism and boy let me tell you what, that was a battle. Satan did not want this baptism to happen. The service was supposed to start at 8:00 am. We get to the church at 7:45 and nobody is there. We wait until 8:15 and nobody shows, Not even the baptismal candidate. We make some phone calls and we know at least 5 people are on their way. The baptismal candidate shows and we are all ready to start except the ocean where we baptize is a 10 minute drive away well the only member in the branch who has a car and committed to come isn't anywhere to be seen and he isn't answering his cell phone. And also one of the members giving a talk hasn't even left where she is staying yet and she is staying in Spanish Town which is 2 hours away from where we were. So thank goodness for Heavenly Father, he formulates a plan for us and we don't have any other option than to follow his plan. Well the plan was to start the service and do the first half at the church (one talk and a solo by my comp. elder Mathewson) and when the candidate was changing call a taxi and that is what we did. We ended waiting for the taxi for 15 minutes while the whole time singing hymns. It was really spiritual. After the baptism we were going to hear the second talk back at the church if she was back by then. So four people, 2 missionaries and 2 members ride bicycles to the beach, me included. And everybody else jumped in the taxi. Well it takes about a half and hour to get everyone to the beach because it took two trips and once we are there we get a phone call from the member who is giving the talk who is also really good friends with the baptismal candidate says she is 15 minutes away and to please wait for her. Well she finally shows up and we have the most amazing baptism ever. We decided to just have the talk at the beach and the member giving the talk pulled out some papers and her written talk flew out of her hands into the sea. I take off and jumped one foot in the water and rescued the talk. It was an intense moment for me. She gave a great talk on the Holy Ghost.
Well the next day on Sunday we realize we have no sacrament bread. I call like 10 people before i found someone who has some bread. Ended up stalling sacrament meeting by like 5 minutes waiting on bread. I Confirmed the new member and it was really embarrassing because i forgot the wording so i ran into the branch presidents office for my handbook and then came back. haha but it ended great in the end. Well Before the sacrament we ended up having 47 people. After the sacrament was blessed and passed people started coming in from all over the place. By the end of sacrament meeting we had 61 people present. During Sunday school we had 5 more people show up. All in all we had 66 people come to church!!!!! I cannot tell you the joy i felt to see people keep coming. Every single chair was filled with a blessing. We received a blessing so big yesterday that we literally didn't have room enough to receive it. I remember praying that morning that the Lord would allow a good turn out and he did. I stood up at the front and waited for everybody to have a seat and i am not even kidding i almost started crying. I ended up interviewing about 10 people I was busy all day.
I am so grateful for Heavenly Father and the knowledge i have of his plan of salvation. I am grateful for the savior and his redeeming love. I know that the power of prayer is incredible. Ask and ye shall receive. Thanks family for all you do. Your prayers and your faith strengthen me every day. I love you so much.
Love Elder Stuart
