Dear Family and Friends,
How has everybody been this week? All I know is that things are great out here. There are so many blessings happening for this branch. We started building the chicken coops this week. We have built two so far and let me tell you what, it is really fun to be apart of this.
In other news we had a lot of people at church again this week. We had 46!! Another solid number. We had 5 less actives back and 5 investigators at church. The Lord is definitely pouring out his Spirit here.
I had a really cool experience at church yesterday. Well, all week I have been concerned about a young man that is partially deaf. You either have to talk really loud or use sign language to communicate to him. Well his mother has been in the United states since I have been here and she recently returned from there. Since she has been back she has been bringing this young man. He used to pass the sacrament and everything. Well come to find out he doesn't feel real comfortable in church here because he can't hear or understand what is going on. And to make matters worse another church missionaries have been meeting with him and he really likes that because they can speak in sign language. Well this has been on my mind all week. Church starts and I am conducting. During the opening hymn and prayer Demany (the young man) walks in with his mom. He is wearing a white shirt and I think "he should pass the sacrament". I don't really know how to tell him because he is partially deaf. Then I remember that I learned the alphabet in sign language in Jr. High!! So I stand to tell everyone there is no business and to move on to the sacrament but I knew what I had to do. So I say to the congregation to sit in reverence and think about the sacrament while I go and talk to someone. I go to the back and pull Demany out into the hall way and spell out in sign language W-I-L-L-Y-O-U-P-A-S-S-T-H-E-S-A-C-R-A-M-E-N-T. A giant smile comes across his face and he shakes his head yes!! We walk back into the chapel and Demany walks to the front with me and sits down to pass the sacrament. I felt so good afterward!!If it wouldn't have been for the Spirit I would not have remembered any of that but now Heavenly Father can help this young man regain his testimony. It was truly a miracle.
Well Family, I love you and hope all is going well for you. Keep up the great work and remember to never forget who you are. Always remember to be each others keeper and love one another as the Savior Loves you.
Love Elder Stuart
