Hello Family!
So this week has been pretty crazy. We had another unexpected Baptism. We were teaching one of our progression investigators last week and he suddenly said he wanted to be baptized this week on Thursday so we did. He had been reading the Book of Mormon very very faithfully and he had come to church for three weeks in a row and he wanted to be baptized as soon as he could so we set the date for Thursday. His name is Juan and he speaks strictly Spanish. He is from Cuba. I can't speak anything to him so what i do is I give him the biggest smile I can muster up and a hug and it makes up for my weaknesses. He said at his baptism that he is excited to serve in the branch and he is looking forward to going and finding all those in active and less active members and bringing them back to the gospel and really that is what it is all about. Finding and teaching those who will work to that sort of testimony.
Yes, this week we ate at an all you can eat Brazilian steak house called prime. It was sooooo good. Our recent convert Mrs. Workman and her husband took us there to thank us for helping bring her into the gospel. It was on Friday the day before my birthday and they told the people that it was my birthday so they brought out a piece of cake and sang happy birthday. It was awesome. I am not even kidding you they had so much steak at this place. They would bring it out on a cooking rod and cut it right off onto our plates. They had probably 10 different cooked steaks. I hadn't had a steak in 9 1/2 months and I didn't hold back. I was full for the next day and a half haha.
So funny story this week. We went to contact a referral given to us and as we were contacting her we find out that it is a 93 year old woman. We are visiting her after a member had just cooked us a big plate of lasagna. We were both trying to fight off the sleepies. Elder Faumui asks her a question and then the next thing I know is i look over and he is almost falling asleep. This lady would just talk talk talk talk and it was killing me. Then when I saw Elder Faumui drifting off I let out a laugh and he wakes up and gives me a dirty look. Then we go out and get her a Book of Mormon before we go and bring it back to her. And she starts rambling again and now Elder Faumui starts laughing as well as i and then the lady starts laughing during her story and then we just let loose. It was one of the funniest times of my mission. We just got the giggles in the middle of this lesson with this 93 year old woman and then we were allowed to let loose with the laugh when she was talking about I don't know what but she laughed so it must have been funny. Every time we asked to say the closing prayer she started introducing her self and telling us that her husband died 10 years ago and I don't know why but it was hysterical!! Well those are my stories for this week. I am so grateful for all of you and your wonderful examples you are for me. I love you all and just want you to keep pressing forward.
Love Elder Stuart
