Hello Family from the tropical island of Jamaica,
How is everything going this week. I'm sure that you are all feeling great in that nice cool weather!! haha To be honest this morning I was a little chilly. I don't know what has gotten into me!! The nights here have been cooling off and it has been wonderful. I can actually sleep comfortably with a blanket or two haha. But during the day watch out it is a scorcher!!
So last night we had another lizard hunt in the house. We have had this lizard living in our cupboard for like a month now and i finally just got sick of the disgusting thing. Well we had the place turned upside down I had the broom and Elder Egan had the machete. i finally caught the stupid thing in the broom on the wall and i didn't know what to do next. Well suddenly i just flung him really hard across the room and he hit the wall and then just walked out the door. haha it was super funny.
Well this week we are supposed to have a baptism but guess what.... They showed up late for church and missed the sacrament so this week they were no longer progressing so we are gonna push it back a week just to be sure. Yes it was a debbie downer when it happened but hey that is missionary work. I would rather to make sure and they be active members of the church than to do it to soon and they fall away.
So this week we taught a ton of lessons 20!! I haven't had that many since elder Montgomery was here. It would have been more Ideal if we would have had more member present lessons. Well now I am just rambling haha.
I have been thinking a lot about the atonement this week. I even found myself studying it one morning and throughout the rest of the day the testimony that was strengthened that morning helped me to have the completed package all day. For example there was a guy that was being rude and chatting at us. Also that day i read in the Book of Mormon to be no respecter of persons. Well as he was chatting at me and telling me to teach him about Jesus in a rude way i was talking to someone else and I told him to wait a minute and i would talk to him. Well when i was done with my conversation he was saying a bunch of stupid stuff. He asked if I would give him money because if we are gonna invite him to church he will need his fair. Well i just looked at him and said, "Jesus Christ carried his cross up that hill for you and i think you can make a little sacrifice to be at church without having to beg me for fair." After i said that he just looked at me and it was like he couldn't talk anymore. It was a pretty cool experience. He just walked away. There was a couple of other things that happened that had to do with the atonement but they aren't as good of a story.
I have noticed my testimony growing and i love it. I do notice a lot that i need to fix about myself though. Well I love you all and i hope all the heating systems are working properly for everybody. I think i would freeze to death if Jamaica suddenly got below zero. So would a lot of other people. Well Keep up the good work and rely on God in all things. Keep smiling and keep being a family!!
Love Parker
