Hello Family and Friends,
It is me again for another email. I can't believe another week has gone by and my trainer is "adios" and home!!. This week has been crazy. I don't even know where to begin. Earlier in the week we had a good bye dinner at a members house for Elder Montgomery and it was really good.
That night President Hendricks called us and told me that the missionary that I was supposed to be training won't be able to make it out for a few days. It was fine I was to get a new companion who had only been out 1 month more than me. So a few days later after Elder Montgomery left we get another call that the new missionary (Elder Strictland, I have no idea if that is the correct spelling or not) wouldn't be here until next transfer because of visa problems. He was supposed to come out the transfer before but still had visa problems. So by the time he gets here he will have completed the 12 week training program somewhere else. He has been sent to the Phoenix Arizona mission while he waits and he has been there for a transfer already. I was kinda bummed because i was looking forward to training but at the same time it isn't that big of a deal because it isn't in anybody's control so it must be Gods will. Elder Olson is cool. He is from Texas.
This week the branch had an activity and they kinda put the missionaries in charge. For the activity everybody that showed up would go out and try to introduce people to the gospel just like the missionaries do when tracting. Only 5 members showed up but they had great success. We ended up getting 22 people's names and phone numbers. Our teaching pool just jumped a ton. We were excited for church too because we were supposed to have good investigators come. Guess how many came............................................................................................0. Yes that is right we didn't have one investigator show up for church. One thing that i have learned through out life though is when ya get bucked off get back on again so that is what we are doing.
Yesterday we got a whole bag of Ackee so hopefully we can figure out how to cook it and have a big lunch. I also got to see Elder Faumui on Wednesday. That was exciting, He is training a kid from Trinidad. He will do great.
So remember the Lizard story. So there is this missionary Elder Eyring, who is strangely fascinated with lizards. We were on our way to transfer day and we stopped at their apartment. After about five minutes of talking to them i see something on his shoulder. It was a lizard!!! It was hilarious because i nor anybody else for that matter was expecting him to have a lizard on him. Well that is all for this week. I love ya all and I can't wait to hear from you again soon.
Love Elder Parker Lee Stuart
